NOTICE:

This year, due to the current COVID restrictions our CARF Accreditation on-site survey will be conducted virtually between the dates of Feb 22, 2021 to Feb 24, 2021. During this timeline, our premises may be subject to a livestreaming process* for the purpose of this accreditation. Images and audio of staff, clients, family members, and bystanders may be seen and heard during the livestreaming. Livestreaming is not recorded nor stored, but may be transmitted outside of Canada.

The Comox Valley Child Development Association is once again working to achieve our CARF® Accreditation. Through the review process our organization has gone through an internal examination of our programs and practices. This is typically followed by an on-site survey. However, this portion will be done virtually this year. The survey process will be conducted by a team of expert practitioners selected by CARF, where the CVCDA must demonstrate that we conform to a series of rigorous and internationally recognized CARF standards.

Based on the results of the survey, CARF prepares a written report of the CVCDA’s strengths and areas for improvement. If the CVCDA has sufficiently demonstrated our conformance to the standards, we will once again earn our CARF accreditation.

About CARF:

CARF Canada AccreditationCARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services, since 1966.

Through accreditation, CARF assists service providers in improving the quality of their services, demonstrating value, and meeting internationally recognized organizational and program standards.

The accreditation process applies sets of standards to service areas and business practices during an on-site survey. Accreditation, however, is an ongoing process, signaling to the public that a service provider is committed to continuously improving services, encouraging feedback, and serving the community. Accreditation also demonstrates a provider’s commitment to enhance its performance, manage its risk, and distinguish its service delivery.
