2021 CVCDA 50/50 Raffle draw underway at 46th Annual CVCDA Children’s Telethon. Left to Right: MC, Sue Wood, CVCDA Board members Christene Evanochko and Diane Daigle and MC, Kenny Shaw
On behalf of the Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA), we would like to offer a BIG THANK YOU to all who participated and supported us at our 46th CVCDA Children’s Telethon. With your support, Comox Valley, we were able to raise a total of $131,851 by the end of our 2021 event held Sunday, November 7th from 12pm – 8pm and broadcast live from the Sid Williams Theatre.
The Telethon itself, although virtual, remained a FREE event for the whole family to view, in real-time, from their televisions or streaming devices from home or anywhere. Viewers were able to see all of the live performances, prize draws and guest appearances that they have come to know through the years and also be part of the wonderful fundraising spirit of the Comox Valley.

CVCDA Children’s Therapy Centre located at 255 Cliffe Avenue, downtown Courtenay.
This year, with your donations we will continue to build on our programs and meet local demands to improve upon the lives of the children, youth and adults with diverse abilities and their families, who utilize our services.
Additionally this year, we announced our primary fundraising goal to fund the initial planning stages of a new capital project. The Therapy Building, one of our oldest and most historic buildings, which is in great need of replacing or major upgardes in order to more easily meet the growing demand for our Early Intervention Therapy (EIT) services.
We are very happy to report we also had a very successful 2021 CVCDA Silent Auction outcome raising just over $14,000. Our 50/50 additionally raised a total of $4,950.00 allowing one winner, Lindsay McQueen to take home the jackpot of $2,475. Both of these fundraisers were included in our telethon total.
We would also like to thank the countless 2021 CVCDA Telethon event supporters including our Co-Producer and Broadcast Partner, Shaw Spotlight, and the technical abilities and streaming services of Bob Wells and My Tech Guys the entire team at the Sid Williams Theatre who worked closely with us to bring the Telethon to the viewers. We could not have done it with out all of the contributions of product and service donations, coverage from our Media Partners, Comox Valley Record, 98.9 Jet FM and 97.3 The Eagle and much, much more community support all around. Thank You!
