The Project Inclusion Support Worker is required to work with young adults to assist in the implementation of daily activities to achieve their goals in community living in the areas of recreation, learning, socializing, volunteering, and employment. This worker will support individuals and participate in activities such as swimming, going to the gym, and supporting the clients with college classes, and recreation programs. The successful applicant will also be responsible for supporting the personal care needs for participants in the program. Experience working with individuals who use wheelchairs is required. In addition, the applicant will help the client towards independence, goal setting and help the client build advocacy skills. Applicants will be trained to work globally in the program as well as covering 1:1 shifts.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
The applicant must have strong problem solving skills and creatively respond to families’ needs for their young adult and have excellent group facilitation and communication skills. Qualification skills include a Degree in Child and Youth Care, certification in Human Service Worker Program, or appropriate training in Child and Youth Care and two years of recent relevant experience working with young adults with diverse abilities. Additional requirements are a valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, driver’s abstract and First Aid training.
Experience in American sign language and knowledge of AAC devices are an asset.
