Job Summary:

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

This position requires Grade XII, plus documented recent training in Autism. Preference will be given to candi-dates who have been trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA), and have a minimum of two years experience
in working with children who require extra support in a family-centred service delivery model. The physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, Child Safe First Aid and a current Driver’s Abstract are also requirements.

Job Summary:
Provide Behaviour Consultation for families and caregivers with children and youth with support needs to address behaviours that challenge individuals and families through completing comprehensive functional assessments, developing Positive Behaviour Support Plans, and providing a range of support, training, and consultation services.

Utilize a community-based, family centered outreach service delivery approach to build the child’s skills, parent’s skills, and family quality of life in home, school, social and community settings.

Qualifications:
Master’s Degree and current certification as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.
Minimum of two years’ previous experience working as a Behaviour Consultant with children and youth with support needs.

Clinical:

  1. Using principles of applied behavioural analysis (ABA) to provide behavioural consultation, complete comprehensive assessments, and develop and implement positive behavioural support plans for referred children, youth, and families.
  2. Complete a comprehensive assessment for each child or youth including a functional behavioural assessment to decrease and eliminate challenging and problem behaviours; incorporate a developmental approach which considers how the child develops including physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and familial functioning.
  3. Develop and implement individualized behavioural assessment and intervention (Positive Behaviour Support) plans.  Consult and collaborate with the child/youth, family/caregivers, teachers or school support staff and other involved health care and social service professionals.  Incorporate the child/youth and family’s interests, abilities, strengths, needs, and preferences.  Include the six basic skill domains of academic, communication, social/play skills, emotional/self regulation, motor/sensory functioning, and independence/life skills.  Establish short and long-term goals, intervention, and training strategies.
  4. Utilize a range of strategies to impart knowledge, improve skills and build awareness of resources with children, youth and families.  Consider and support improved functioning, as per the child/youth and family needs and preferences in the domains of health, safety, education, emotional, physical, social, leisure, spiritual, cultural, inter-personal relationships and other child-specific or family needs.
  5. Deliver services on an outreach basis within family, the home and/or in community settings.
  6. Provide regular and ongoing monitoring and evaluation.

  1. Maintain individual files; prepare and submit reports as required.

Job Summary:

BIs are an important part of a child’s team and they work with other professionals like behaviour consultants, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists. The successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Autism Program Lead. The position will implement service plans prepared by the Behaviour Consultant for individual and small group intervention. This position will also assist in the planning of daily activities to achieve the program objectives identified in the Behaviour Plan.

Position Qualifications:

This position requires Grade XII and documented recent training in Autism, such as workplace trainings or independent professional development opportunities in autism within the last two years (ex: ACT trainings, Autism BC trainings, college or university coursework). Preference will be given to candidates who have been trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA), and have a minimum of two years’ experience in working with children who require extra support in a family-centred service delivery model.

Job Summary:

The CVCDA Administrative Assistant under the direction and supervision of the Administration Program Manager performs receptionist/administrative duties and office support for multiple supervisors/employees in a variety of Child Development disciplines; ensuring efficient operation of CVCDA offices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

As one of the first people CVCDA clients/staff will interact with daily; the administrative position requires a person with a friendly and patient disposition. All duties and activities will be performed in an efficient, timely manner as follows:

  1. General reception duties including greeting visitors, answer telephones, take messages, provide information in response to general inquiries or directing the questioner to the appropriate person
  2. Administrative duties, filing, photocopying, daily mail/email
  3. Operation of all office machines and assist staff with the use of office machines (photocopier, fax machine)
  4. Updating all required office forms either hard copy (originals binder) or electronic
  5. Managing the purchase of supplies by tracking inventory, selecting suppliers, and placing orders. Receive and verify all purchases, review and attach packing slip with incoming statements. Distribute goods and support documentation to appropriate departments and follows up on any discrepancies, back orders, etc.
  6. Keeping the Administrative Folder/Binder outlining office procedures current and up to date
  7. Oversee room booking for staff and outside user groups as needed
  8. Taking minutes for meetings as needed
  9. Assisting in team event/staff development planning
  10. Participating on committees as required

OFFICE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION

  1. Data entry, records creation, maintenance and look-up including report development and retrieval
  2. Accept payments and issue receipts for donations, program service fee payments, workshops etc.
  3. Maintaining and updating telephone system menus and automatic messages including updating the phone extension list
  4. Management of agency documents and databases including spreadsheets

PROGRAM SUPPORT

  1. Scan and upload intake paperwork, fax/copy appropriate service provider
  2. Confidential file management – creating new files as directed in client database program and updating files as directed

ACCREDITATION

  1. As directed, assist the Administration Program Manager and Executive Director in activities related to the agency’s CARF Accreditation process

SECURITY

  1. Activate new employees access codes as well as cancel access for terminated employees
  2. Update Security binder with new information (keys and codes)
  3. Train new staff on using the alarm system

FUNDRAISING

  1. Provide support for the Annual Children’s Telethon held each November
  2. Send out donor letter and contact donors directly as needed
  3. Receive donations (either monetary or in-kind) tracking all items as per agency protocol
  4. Provide support at Telethon Meetings and the Telethon Event

Qualifications:

Required: minimum Grade 12 and recent related experience of 3 years or longer. Secondary Administrative related education preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively with and relate to people of diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Knowledge of office equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, multi-line telephone, postage machine
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities
  • Ability to work within a team environment
